Images & Content Notice
Where images and videos come from
| Source | What it shows | How it’s labeled |
|---|---|---|
| The business owner | Photos and menu pictures uploaded by the verified owner | Shown as the place’s own media |
| Rouleat members | Photos taken by customers | Credited to the member |
| Google or Yelp | Photos contributed to those services, usually of the place itself | Credited to the source |
| Stock media (Pexels) | Generic food photos and background videos matched only to a type of cuisine | Marked as stock or illustrative, with a Pexels credit |
| Example dish photos (Pexels) | A generic photo of a similar dish, used on a menu item that has no photo of its own | Labeled “Example photo” on the menu; never shown in the Dishes feed |
| Rouleat artwork | Animated illustrations used when no photo is available | Clearly an illustration |
Stock media is illustrative only
- Stock photos and videos are licensed from Pexels and picked automatically by cuisine keyword (for example “tacos” or “sushi”). They are not from, approved by, or connected to the business shown.
- They do not show the business’s real food, portion sizes, ingredients, quality, cleanliness, prices, staff or premises. Please don’t judge a business, or make decisions about allergies or diet, based on them.
- People who appear in stock media are models or members of the public filmed by the stock contributor. They are not connected to any business in Rouleat.
“Example photo” on menus
When a dish on a restaurant’s menu has no picture, Rouleat may show a free stock photo of a similar dish, picked automatically by the dish’s name. These are labeled “Example photo”. They are not the restaurant’s food and don’t show its real portions, ingredients, plating or quality. When the owner uploads a real photo of the dish, it replaces the example. Owners can also remove all example photos from their menu.
Well-known brands
For large chains and well-known brands, Rouleat does not use stock photos or videos. We show only real images from the sources above, or our own illustrations, so no brand is shown with imagery that isn’t its own.
Ratings, reviews and details
Ratings and review excerpts come from Google, Yelp and Rouleat members. We show them as provided and don’t check each one. Opinions in reviews belong to their authors, not to Rouleat.
Trademarks
Names and logos are the property of their owners and appear only to identify the business. Rouleat is not affiliated with any listed business unless the listing says it is owner-managed.
Something wrong? Tell us
If you own a business and an image, video or detail misrepresents you, open the place in Rouleat and tap Report, claim your listing to upload your own photos, or email dylan.mfh@gmail.com. We’ll review it quickly and remove or replace media on request.
